Do you need a special printer or ink cartridges for this? I know the ink needed is really minute quantities, but I still wouldn't want to eat regular printer ink

In the bakery I work at, we have a printer with edible ink and edible paper. I would think that you would need a printer solely used for this purpose, since normal ink printers have inedible ink and residue.
